Are you open on Saturdays?

Examination, fees and payment
What happens at the first examination?
At the first examination, we listen to your complaint, perform an intraoral examination and take X-rays if needed. Then the treatments you need, alternative options, the estimated duration and the fee are clearly explained to you. Treatment begins only after you give your consent.
What should I bring with me to the examination?
It is enough to bring your ID, any X-rays or CT scans taken previously, and a list of the medications you take regularly. If you are coming under a partner institution or insurance plan, please also bring the relevant card or document.
Can I find out dental treatment prices over the phone?
The cost of dental treatment varies from person to person depending on the condition of the tooth, the method and material to be used, and whether additional procedures are needed. For this reason, quoting an exact price before an examination and the necessary imaging does not allow for accurate planning. The treatment plan and fee prepared after the examination are clearly communicated to you before treatment begins.
Can I get preliminary information by sending X-rays or photos?
Yes. After filling out the online preliminary assessment form, you can send your X-rays or intraoral photos via WhatsApp. Our dentist can give you preliminary information; however, a clinical examination is required for a definitive diagnosis and treatment plan.
Is the treatment plan given in writing?
After the examination, the recommended treatments, the order in which they will be carried out and their fees are shared with you in detail. So that you can evaluate your treatment plan comfortably, we encourage you to ask questions and, if needed, take time to think it over.
What is a digital impression, and how is it different from a conventional impression?
A digital impression is a 3D scan of the teeth taken within a few minutes using a small device called an intraoral scanner. Since no impression tray or putty is placed in the mouth as in the conventional method, it does not cause a gagging sensation; the precise digital model obtained is sent to the laboratory electronically. At Atayeter Çayırova Dental Clinic, impressions for crowns, bridges, implant-supported teeth and smile design are taken digitally.
What is digital anesthesia? Will I feel the needle?
Digital anesthesia is the slow delivery of the anesthetic solution into the tissue at a steady, low pressure using a computer-controlled device. The pressure and stinging sensation felt with a conventional syringe are greatly reduced; in suitable cases, since only the area of the tooth being treated can be numbed, prolonged numbness of the lip and tongue is also reduced. At our clinic, local anesthesia is administered with a digital anesthesia device.
What are the payment options?
For information about current payment options, you can call our clinic or ask your dentist or our clinic staff during your examination.
Partner institutions and insurance
Which institutions and insurance companies do you have agreements with?
Atayeter Çayırova Dental Clinic has agreements with various private health insurance companies, institutions and unions. You can find the current list on the Partner Institutions page of our website. If your institution is not on the list, you can call us for information.
Will my private health insurance cover dental treatment?
This depends on the dental coverage in your policy. Some policies cover procedures such as examinations, fillings, root canal treatment and tartar cleaning within certain limits, while cosmetic procedures are generally excluded. You can find out the scope of your policy from your insurance company or from our clinic.
How do I benefit from the partner institution discount?
When making an appointment, simply mention that you are a member of a partner institution or union, and bring your institution ID card or the relevant document to your examination. The applicable terms may vary by institution.
My institution is not on the list. Can I still get information?
Of course. Our agreements are updated regularly. To find out whether the institution you work for or the union you belong to has an agreement with us, you can reach us at 0530 887 22 82.
How can institutions and companies set up an agreement with your clinic?
Institutions, companies and unions that would like to offer special dental care services to their employees or members can send an email to atayeterdis@gmail.com or call our clinic to discuss an agreement.
Implants and prosthetics
How long does dental implant treatment take?
A standard dental implant treatment is usually completed within 2–4 months. Placing a single implant takes approximately 20–40 minutes; most of the time is the healing period needed for the implant to fuse with the jawbone. The process may take longer when bone grafting is required.
Is dental implant treatment painful?
Since the implant is placed under local anesthesia, no pain is felt during the procedure. There may be mild pain and swelling over the next 2–3 days; this can usually be managed with the pain relievers recommended by your dentist and cold compresses.
How long do dental implants last?
Properly planned and well-maintained implants can be used for many years, often for a lifetime. The way to maintain success is regular brushing, using dental floss or interdental brushes, avoiding smoking and coming in for a checkup every 6 months.
Can I get an implant if I don't have enough bone?
In most cases, yes. When bone volume is insufficient, a suitable base for the implant can be prepared with bone grafting or, in the upper jaw, a sinus lift procedure. Whether this is needed is determined with a 3D CT scan.
Which is better, a bridge or an implant?
With an implant, the healthy neighboring teeth are not touched and bone loss slows down; with a bridge, the teeth on either side of the gap are prepared and used as support. Which option suits you is determined at the examination, based on the condition of the neighboring teeth, your bone structure and your general health.
What is a zirconia crown, and who is it for?
Zirconia is a metal-free, highly translucent and durable crown material. It is preferred for achieving a natural-looking result on discolored teeth, teeth with large fillings, broken teeth or teeth that have had root canal treatment, as well as on implant-supported teeth.
Can I get fixed teeth instead of removable dentures?
In patients with suitable bone structure, implant-supported fixed prostheses can be made instead of removable dentures. In completely toothless jaws, fixed teeth on 4 or 6 implants (All-on-4 / All-on-6) are used for this purpose.
Cosmetic dentistry, smile design and whitening
What is smile design?
Smile design is the digital planning of a new smile by analyzing facial features, the lip line, gum level and tooth proportions, followed by treatments such as whitening, laminate veneers, zirconia or gum contouring according to this plan. The result can be seen with an intraoral trial before treatment begins.
How many sessions does smile design take?
Although it varies depending on the scope, smile design is usually completed in 2–4 sessions over approximately 1–3 weeks. If orthodontic treatment is needed, it takes longer.
What are laminate veneers (porcelain veneers)?
Laminate veneers are thin porcelain shells approximately 0.3–0.7 mm thick that are bonded to the front surface of the tooth. They correct color, shape and small gap problems while removing very little tooth structure.
Does teeth whitening damage the teeth?
Whitening performed under a dentist's supervision does not cause permanent damage to tooth enamel. The most common side effect is temporary tooth sensitivity, which goes away on its own within a few days.
How long does teeth whitening last?
Depending on diet and habits, the effect of whitening usually lasts 1–3 years. Reducing tea, coffee and cigarette consumption and having regular tartar cleaning help the result last longer.
What should I pay attention to after whitening?
For the first 48 hours after the procedure, it is recommended to avoid colored foods and drinks such as tea, coffee, cola, red wine, sour cherry juice and tomato paste, as well as smoking. If you experience sensitivity, you can use a desensitizing toothpaste.
Can a chip or gap in my front teeth be fixed in a single session?
Small chips, gaps and shape irregularities can often be corrected in a single session with cosmetic composite bonding, without cutting the tooth. For more extensive changes, laminate veneers or crowns may be recommended.
Fillings, root canal treatment and gums
What is a composite (tooth-colored) filling?
A composite filling restores the tooth to its original shape with a tooth-colored material after the decay has been removed. It looks natural, adheres to the tooth by bonding and is usually completed in a single session.
How long does a filling last?
The lifespan of composite fillings depends on the size of the filling, the position of the tooth, oral hygiene and habits such as teeth clenching. Thanks to regular checkups, wear at the filling margins or new decay can be detected early.
How do I know if I need root canal treatment?
Prolonged sensitivity to hot and cold, toothache that starts on its own or wakes you up at night, swelling or an abscess around the tooth, and darkening of the tooth after a blow are signs that root canal treatment may be needed. The final decision is made with an examination and X-rays.
How many sessions does root canal treatment take, and does it hurt?
Most root canal treatments are completed in 1–2 sessions; if there is an infection, more sessions may be needed. Since the treatment is performed under local anesthesia, no pain is felt during the procedure; there may be mild sensitivity for 1–3 days afterward.
Why do my gums bleed?
The most common cause of bleeding gums is gum inflammation (gingivitis) caused by bacterial plaque building up on the tooth surface. If left untreated, gum disease can progress to the bone that supports the teeth. In most cases, professional tartar cleaning and proper home care stop the bleeding within a short time.
How often should tartar cleaning be done?
For most people, tartar cleaning is recommended every 6 months. People who have had gum disease, who smoke or who build up tartar quickly may need cleaning every 3–4 months.
Does tartar cleaning wear down the teeth?
No. Tartar cleaning performed with ultrasonic instruments does not damage tooth enamel. The feeling of space after cleaning comes from the area exposed once the tartar is removed.
Pediatric dentistry and orthodontics
When should I take my child to the dentist for the first time?
The first dental visit should take place when the first baby tooth comes in, or by age 1 at the latest. After that, a checkup every 6 months is recommended. An early visit makes it possible to take preventive measures before decay develops and helps the child have a positive first experience with the dentist.
Why should baby teeth be treated if they are going to fall out anyway?
Baby teeth support the development of chewing and speech and hold space for the permanent teeth developing underneath. Untreated decay in baby teeth can lead to pain, abscesses and crooked permanent teeth.
What are fissure sealants and fluoride treatment?
A fissure sealant reduces the formation of decay by sealing the deep grooves on the chewing surfaces of the back teeth with a flowable material. Fluoride varnish is a preventive procedure that strengthens tooth enamel and is usually applied every 3–6 months. Both are painless.
At what age is orthodontic treatment (braces) done?
Age 7 is recommended for the first orthodontic checkup; at this stage, problems related to jaw development can be detected early. Adults with suitable dental and gum health can also have orthodontic treatment at any age.
Clear aligners or braces?
Clear aligners are nearly invisible and removable; they give good results in mild to moderate crowding. Metal or porcelain brackets, on the other hand, can be used in every case, including more advanced problems. The method that suits you is determined after an examination and analysis.
How long does orthodontic treatment take?
Orthodontic treatment usually takes 12–24 months, depending on the complexity of the problem. Mild crowding may be corrected in 6–12 months. After treatment, a retainer is used to maintain the new position of the teeth.
Tooth extraction, wisdom teeth and emergencies
Do wisdom teeth always have to be extracted?
No. Wisdom teeth that have come in properly, can be cleaned and do not cause problems may not need to be extracted. Extraction is recommended for wisdom teeth that remain impacted, cause recurring pain and swelling, or damage the neighboring tooth. The decision is made based on examination and X-ray findings.
What should I pay attention to after a tooth extraction?
Bite on the gauze for 30–45 minutes; on the first day, do not spit, drink through a straw or rinse your mouth. For the first 24 hours, apply cold to the outside of your face at intervals, avoid hot and hard foods, and do not smoke for at least 48–72 hours.
What should I do if a severe toothache starts at night?
You can take a pain reliever previously recommended by your dentist or one you are able to take, and apply cold to the outside of your face. Do not place aspirin on the painful area and avoid applying heat. During our working hours (until 22:00 on weekdays), you can call us to request a same-day visit. If you have rapidly growing facial swelling, fever, or difficulty swallowing or breathing, go to the nearest emergency department without delay.
My tooth broke or was knocked out in a fall. What should I do?
Hold a completely knocked-out permanent tooth by the crown, not by the root; if it is dirty, rinse it gently with milk or saline, and keep it in milk or inside your cheek while you see a dentist without delay. The first 30–60 minutes are very important for the chance of saving the tooth. Bring any broken tooth fragments with you as well.
I have swelling in my face. Is it an emergency?
Swelling caused by a tooth is usually a sign of infection and should be assessed as soon as possible. Call us to request a same-day appointment. If the swelling is growing quickly, spreading toward the eye or neck, or is accompanied by fever or difficulty swallowing or breathing, go directly to the emergency department.
Hygiene, safety and special situations
How are hygiene and sterilization ensured at your clinic?
All treatment instruments used are cleaned, packaged and sterilized separately for each patient. Disposable materials such as gloves, suction tips and bibs are used only once; treatment units and surfaces are disinfected after every patient.
Can I have dental treatment while pregnant?
Oral and dental health checkups are important during pregnancy; tartar cleaning and necessary emergency treatments can be performed following the dentist's assessment. For planned treatments, the 4th–6th months of pregnancy are generally considered the most suitable period. Cosmetic procedures such as whitening are postponed until after birth and breastfeeding. Be sure to tell us that you are pregnant before your examination.
I take blood thinners. Can I have dental treatment?
Most treatments can be performed; however, you must inform your dentist of all the medications you take, especially before tooth extractions and surgical procedures. Do not stop taking your medication on your own; if necessary, the decision is made together with your physician.
I have diabetes or heart disease. Does it make a difference to treatment?
Well-controlled diabetes and cardiovascular diseases do not prevent most dental treatments. However, for treatment planning and the choice of anesthesia, it is important to describe your general health and the medications you take to your dentist in detail during the examination.
I'm afraid of the dentist. What can I do?
This is very common. Share your fear with us when making an appointment or during the examination; we explain the treatment steps in advance, proceed at your pace and provide an environment where you can take a break whenever you want. Treatments are performed under local anesthesia to help keep you comfortable.
Are X-rays harmful?
The radiation dose of the digital X-rays used in dentistry is quite low. X-rays are taken only when necessary for diagnosis and treatment; if you are pregnant or may be pregnant, please let us know in advance.
